Taryn Dougall is a CAEA Stage Manager based in Toronto, Ontario.
Recent credits include La Bohéme (Calgary Opera), Measure for Measure, Much Ado About Nothing (Canadian Stage), Into the Woods (St. Clair College), Fences, A Christmas Carol (Grand Theatre), and the World Premiere of Hadrian (Canadian Opera Company). Upcoming: The Runner (Tarragon Theatre).
Taryn holds her Advanced Diploma in Music Theatre Performance from St. Clair College in April 2014. In 2015, she completed her studies at Capilano University in North Vancouver receiving a Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree. Within the BPA program she created interdisciplinary performances collaboratively as a member of Loose Leaf Collective. In this group, Taryn directed film, assisted designers and created new work alongside 22 other students from various artistic disciplines. In this program, Taryn worked with professional instructors including Stuart Aikins, Marguerite Witvoet, and David Bloom.
Taryn received training at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in 2016 through the Opera Assistant Stage Management practicum. During this time, she worked as an Assistant Stage Manager on the Room With a View concert and the workshop production of No One's Safe directed by Joel Ivany of Against the Grain Theatre. She completed 10 Apprentice Credits before joining the Canadian Actors Equity Association as a union Stage Manager. Taryn is also an IATSE Permittee with the 822 Wardrobe local.
